We arrived in Toronto much later than we were supposed to (close to 6 hours), after collecting our bags we trundled up to our hotel and checked in. It was my first time staying in the Sheraton brand hotel, they are absolutely amazing, being on our honeymoon they upgraded us and gave us complimentary access to the club room on the top floor!
We went out afterwards to Eaton Centre, Toronto's largest shopping centre. Besides Cara going to the obvious make up stores, I sort of went crazy....finding a Fossil watch store, Toronto Blue Jays and a Vans store, I bought a little to much!
We pulled ourselves away eventually and after scavenging for dinner called it a night.
The next morning we caught a cab over to the Distillery District. It's an old area dating back to the 1800's that has been redeveloped with shops, breweries, cafes and traders, it was really something, very hipster though haha. Even some of the lighting on the streets were still gas powered. We wandered around and I found ANOTHER GREAT COFFEE PLACE!!! Oh my gosh, I was so happy to finally find some quality coffee again. Balzacs was a fantastic coffee shop covering any sort of coffee needs anyone could have. We ventured around some more and bought a few little items and stopped for lunch at a brewery before heading back to the room.
Later that evening we waked down towards the lake front and went up CN tower and to the Ripley's Aquarium. It was a cool aquarium, but really nothing Ripley's about it at all. The tower was great, gave us great views of Toronto and had glass floors in some areas...freaked me out a little, being scared of heights and all! Toronto is such a beautiful city, like Vancouver it reminded me alot of Adelaide! (I think I liked Toronto even more than Vancouver).
It was pretty average weather next morning so we took our sweet ass time getting up and eventually took advantage of the upgrade, having brekky on the club floor. I'd been wanting to do a brewery tour at the Steam Whistle Brewery, we headed on down that arvo and booked in. I didn't realise it was so popular, we had to wait a couple of hours so we went down to the Lake Ontaria river front and relaxed for a while. The brewery tour was great, when isn't free beer great? I don't know many, if any, other breweries that only brew one type! It was a great pilsner however. It was our last night in Toronto sadly, I really liked it there and like Vancouver I wish we had more time to see and do more!
Onwards to beautiful Niagara Falls next!
