All Of The Lakes!

Brrrrrrrrr! It was a very brisk morning waking up in Lake Louise, hovering just around 0 with more snow on the mountains and plenty of frost about on the cars, but the good news was, it was completely blue sky!
We devoured some brekky then set off to the famed Lake Louise, my gosh there were so many tourists! I know I was one of them but it was so so crowded, it sort of ruined a little of the magic I guess. Don't get me wrong, Lake Louise is absolutely gorgeous, there are walking trails, hikes up to Tea Houses, you can go canoeing on the lake or just sit at one of the many spots to just sit and take in the view. We spent a good few hours there while some of us hiked, some canoed and some (me) just strutted around the lake taking to many photos, my phone and lens attachment was hijacked by a certain someone wielding a stupid selfie stick....I got it back and over 120 selfies had been taken!

That afternoon on our way to Banff, we stopped at Emerald Lake and at my FAVOURITE Lake by a long long way, Morraine Lake. It is just such a magical spot, it's surrounded by a huge chain of mountains, there is a small hike you can do which will give you an amazing vantage point overlooking the whole area. The colour of the lake was fantastic and we had snow blowing off the mountain peaks onto us, such a surreal moment. I like to get one or two of my favourite photos printed on a larger scale, this is definitely going to be one!

We arrived in Banff that evening, it was instantly obvious it was going to be a town we all wished we were spending longer than one night in. After checking in we went for dinner at a Distillery that had only recently opened up there, sadly they had none ready for tasting yet, but the food was amazing.
I've really been slacking with these blogs, I'm sorry, it is a matter of good intentions but being on holiday is making it hard! I've kept this one to just a single day but I have more coming soon though.

Until the next blog, my lovely followers.
